Galaxy Black I Characters and Classes
A downloadable game
First in the Galaxy Black series. A full generation system for imperial aliens as NPCs or as full player characters, with adjustable but deep levels of granularity. All of the core classes for Galaxy Black are contained within. All fully compatible with DCC.
Note: this is part of the Galaxy Black series and is not a complete game unto itself. IT requires the DCC RPG and Galaxy Black II Magic, Metaphysics, and Psychic powers.
Galaxy black is a science fiction and space fantasy toolkit for your DCC RPG game. With Galaxy Black you should be able to fake your way through your favorite SF franchise without any problems at all – from golden age space opera to grotty modern post-cyberpunk, from the gutter to the stars, and all points in between.
Galaxy black is also, for those who want it, a setting, showing one example of how using all the elements in the book (and there are a lot of them!) together can work, using a traditional golden age Galactic Empire as a model.
Galaxy black is generators! Make worlds, cultures, aliens, gods, and technology, use the campaign frameworks and adventure generators to inspire or map out a whole adventure, a whole campaign!
Galaxy black has character classes, psionics, weird alien magic, demons, daemons, and terrifying new vistas of unreality

Can we expect this series in print at some point?
Hi there! Thank you for the interest! Print versions _are_ coming. RL has gotten VERY full these past few months and that has regrettably slowed pretty much everything down. I am in the process of converting the first volume into a POD format as we speak; after that it should be the next volumes pretty much following in order from there. The plan had been for all of this to release in hard copy from day one but well, COVID. I will be pretty vocal in the usual places once that's in place. Unsure as to implementation here on itch.io just yet but i'll figure it out.
I had surgery & a spot bit of homelessness over the summer but we are back in business and this may be coming sooner than you might think based on the above. Watch this space
I look forward to hearing about better times, I'm sorry you had to deal with all of that. The human world that sustains us is horrific, and you deserve more stability and empathy.
thank you I appreciate your comments and the sentiment behind them. I'm in a vastly better place now both geographically and mentally, really looking forward to getting back to work on my stuff. I did unfortunately lose my laptop in the move and by lose I mean hard drive failure but hopefully soon I will be able to recover it or get something new but the loss of all that work is a real blow
I understand, I had a massive loss years ago during a traumatic move, and I never quite recovered from that professionally because I didn't return to making stuff until recently. I constantly keep forgetting how many large obstacles COVID has put in our way, but it's important to remember that some things you didn't have control over. I hope you still find the joy and relief in creativity that brought you here in the first place. 💜
Thank you! And thank you for sharing your story. Sometimes it takes us a while to get back to our passions but so long as we *do* get back to them I feel the struggle has to be said to have been worth it.
Still no joy on recovering data from the old laptop yet but I do have a new computer as of yesterday so -hopefully- I shouldn't have too many more impediments to getting on track.
Still trying to figure out what to do with the releases I was just about done on as I don't really want to rewrite most of those - but holding out may mean they never come out. Lots of decisions. Still do not have an abundance of free time to work on things but I'm still trying to find a groove here at the new place with all this change so it's not so much a matter of if but when.
For what it's worth right now myself and an editor friend of mine are cleaning the text up a bit and Engineering a one and done big book with everything in it which is how it was originally supposed to be presented. I am kind of holding out for that to put into print but we're making good progress.
Finding the right people is vital but does sometimes take a good long while
